Memorial Day Weekend and Exciting News!

Okay for the exciting news first–Scott got an assignment to Langley and it looks like he’ll be here in August!!! He already posted it to Facebook so people probably already know. This has just made my night. So happy 😀 Of course I can’t mention it to Damien. I made the mistake of saying something about visiting Grandma and Grandpa and he’s been hasseling me to go to the airport and droning on about how much he misses them (and Uncle David too!). I just keep thinking “I know! I want to go right now too!”

Alright, so we just had a four-day weekend for Memorial Day and I discovered a new park (Huntington Park) that’s only a 20 min drive away from my house, is free and has a beach. YESSSS! Now the only downside is all the people. The park was pretty spectacular. It was pirate themed.

Shoveling sand. He really justed wanted to get in the water.
Down the slide!
Exploring. The park was HUGE!

Scott spent his Memorial Day weekend in Venice with four other friends/coworkers. Sounds like he had fun sightseeing.

It’s My Birthday :)

Today was a great birthday and I felt really special. My parents, Grandma, and Scott (flowers and bear below) sent me very nice gifts from far away. Then when I went to work this morning, my office decorated my desk and made me Butterfinger cupcakes (since it’s my favorite candy bar). A couple of them even pitched in to get me a really nice gift which included $100 gift card to a spa and they even said they’d watch Damien for me! 😀  My whole office went to lunch together, but it wasn’t just for my birthday. It was also to celebrate a promotion and a farewell to one of the Airmen who’s moving to a different shop next week. Anyways, I had to share. Oh, and my phone is blowing up with Happy Birthdays. Thank you, everyone! Now I’m glad to have a four day weekend to lay low 🙂

I gave Damien my mylar balloons that I got from work.
My thoughtful gifts! Damien’s in the picture only because he can never leave my stuff alone…
Delicious Butterfinger cupcakes!

As Damien was eating his cupcake, he started singing Happy Birthday to me and I thought it was so super cute so I asked him to sing it for me again so I could record it and this was the result:

Mama and Damien
I asked Damien to give me his “mad” face. This is really the face he makes when he doesn’t like something I do.

A Lot Coming Up

I don’t really have any news, but I do have a lot coming up to look forward to. I’m planning a trip to ND at the end of June through the 4th of July weekend. And I’ll be finding out in the next week or two if Scott is leaving Germany in August or October and get the final word on his assignment here to Langley.

In other news, Damien has been wearing his big-boy underwear to daycare now for the past 3 weeks. So far he’s only had 2 accidents at daycare so he’s doing GREAT! I still have him in pull-ups at night and when I go shopping on the weekends only because he’s still afraid of public restrooms. And I gave him a haircut not too long ago because the weather’s been so hot and humid–ugh.

He loves dandelions 🙂
Everytime we go to this park, Damien tries to climb this tree. Then he pokes at it with sticks…
