So…we’re flying out of Germany on 22 July. The plan as it sits right now will be to stay in Maine from 22-29 July and then head over to North Dakota from 29 July-5 August. Then after we’re done visiting family, Scott and I will be heading for Virginia to get me all set up while Damien stays with his Grandma and Grandpa Hanks. I don’t know anymore details right now because I’m waiting for Scott to return to Germany next week and then we’re working on getting plane tickets purchased. It’s exciting, but also rather stressful too. Scott won’t be able to fly with me to Baltimore–long story. Anyways, more details to follow in the next couple weeks!
Last Sunday I took Damien to the Dinosaur park with a coworker and her two boys. Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn’t stay very long, but here are some belated pictures. Damien still really loves dinosaurs and elephants.
Speaking of Scott, he should be back in Germany on 3 June–just a week from Monday!! I don’t have any plans yet for Monday and I don’t work, but I need to do something because Damien is driving me NUTS! He’s in an argumentative stage and he’s just being ridiculous. He fights me on EVERYTHING. I think tonight may call for a nice bath.
I had the day off and did a little bit of shopping. I bought Damien a magna-doodle and he seems to really like it 🙂
Saturday night I offered to watch a coworker’s two little boys so her and her husband could enjoy dinner and a movie. The older boy, Xavier, is 2 years old and played nicely with Damien’s toys and watched movies. He really loved reading in Damien’s inflatable play area. The younger boy, Xander, just turned one. I thought he was pretty adorable. He just walked around and smiled at me. Damien, on the other hand, was a nightmare. He was running around and yelling and just acting out of control. He was even a little aggressive with the other kids. And he was asking for help on things he doesn’t need help with. Scott says he probably was just seeking attention and I would agree. I ended up putting Damien to bed at 8 just to get some peace! This is the very first time I’ve ever babysat in my life which I think is kind of funny. And no, this does NOT mean I intend to have more 🙂
In other news, I was picking up the living room today so I could vacuum and Damien brought out the broom and dust pan so he could sweep. I found him “helping” and decided it might make a cute video.
And lastly, it sounds like Scott will be coming home at the end of May! Yay!
