First Week of First Grade

Damien started the first grade right after Labor Day. They’ve started a new program this year at the elementary school using a program called Class Dojo. It’s essentially an app on your phone where the teacher adds or subtracts points throughout the day based on your child’s behavior. They earn points by following directions, being safe, and having a positive attitude. On day 1, Damien received all positive points! Unfortunately he’s had at least one problem everyday after that with being “disrespectful”.  That’s not a great start to the year…

Damien’s terrarium is looking good 🙂

In other news, I’m sick. I’ve been super congested and tired. I’m resting as much as possible because it’s going to be busy at work the next three weeks due to an inspection. Luckily Scott has really stepped up taking care of Damien and the household duties.

Happy 6th Birthday, Damien!

Damien’s birthday this year just happened to fall on the four-day holiday weekend before the first day of school. We scheduled a small Pokemon themed party on Saturday, but due to potential tropical storm conditions we had to reschedule for Monday (Labor Day). Here’s how our four-day weekend went!

On Friday evening, Scott got called into work to prep for the “tropical storm” so Damien and I went to dinner…at Taco Bell. He LOVED his burrito.

Saturday we all stayed home due to the weather. In our area it was just very windy with a little bit of rain. So glad it wasn’t anything more!
